The House of Masks in the village of Kosharevo is a masterpiece of domestic architecture. The exterior of the house attracts the attention of folklorists because it has been preserved. The complex is located in an old house, built in the 19th century by local craftsmen, and declared a cultural monument in the last century. The building has been completely reconstructed, preserving its authentic appearance. A few years ago, as part of a cross-border cooperation project between Bulgaria and Serbia, it was turned into a museum of masks. In two of the halls, 16 Survakar masks and faces, the work of local craftsmen, are presented, as well as costumes with which the masked men participate in the International Festival of Masquerade Games “Surova”. The tradition of the “SUROVA” holiday is alive in everyone who has touched it and managed to pass it on to the next person or present it to others. Local Survakar costumes are also displayed. The complex also has workshops where visitors can make their own masks.
