Just as the Rila Lakes are veiled in mysticism, another nearby site has a romantic legend associated with two lovers, too.
Goritsa eco-trail runs along one of the cleanest river valleys in Bulgaria, whose name comes straight from the legend. There are two routes – direct and circular. The direct one starts from the center of the village and heads to the Panichishte resort. The second route starts from Tepavitsite and reaches the Ovchartsi waterfall, in front of which there is a designated observation and recreation area with a view of the raging waters. The trail then rushes into a slightly steeper part of the mountain and goes back to the village, but it is not recommended for unprepared hikers.
