The Dragon fountain is a unique place in the mountains above the village of Bosnek, from where living water flows.
The fountain has the shape of a dragon’s head, and the water runs out from its mouth. It’s easy to get there – along an easy path from the village of Bosnek. It takes about an hour to walk, and the views are incredible.
There are legends that the water can sense what the person standing in front of it is like. In front of good people, the water flows strongly, and in front of bad people, it stops completely. According to folk beliefs, also known as the “Fountain of Happiness”, the water has healing powers and to this day many people visit it. The spring itself is located very close above the fountain, hidden behind a large tree on the mountainside.
Further up the path you will also reach the Cave of St. Ivan Rilski, which has a beautiful icon.
This place, unique to the Balkan Peninsula, is worth visiting for its tranquility and living water.
